Got some good pictures today of a coyote checking out the FOXPRO with a Whirling Woodpecker decoy hanging on some fishing line. This coyote came into Lucky Bird and some Jay sounds.

I had my new camera shooting in full auto

I was starting to get excited right about here.

I was waiting for my son Wesley or my cousin Gary to shoot.

We did get 4 coyotes today, 2 with shotguns and two with a rifle.

Rich, This yote came in looking at the decoy, then bolted towards it. She never had a chance, she just went after the decoy like she hadn't eaten in a week!!!

I took this bobcat using your Whirling Woodpecker
and a FoxPro jackrabbit.
He saw that Woodpecker and locked on to it!

"Thanks to Outfoxed Products for making such a fine predator decoy. We used the Whirling Woodpecker while filming our second DVD "Prescription for Success" and it was a great addition to our predator bag of tricks. It not only draws them in closer but holds their attention allowing more time to make the shot. Thanks again for making a great product that every predator hunter can use."

I recently ordered a Whirling Woodpecker recommended by the guys at All Predator Calls. When the woodpecker showed up at my home my first thought was that it looked like a cute toy for a kid. However, I had a chance to use the Woodpecker early this week and have a really fantastic story.

We set up Monday night at around 4:00 P.M. to try to call in a couple of coyotes in a dry river bed below some low cliffs. I set up with a Sceery Jack Rabbit call and a Bantam 3-in-1 kit. I placed the Woodpecker out about 15-20 feet in front of me just on the other side of a low bush, so I could see it but not easily be seen. I called with the Sceery call for about 15 minutes and was beginning to think about moving my stand but since we were near water and good cover I really wanted to see if a bobcat might show itself so I stayed put and blew the Bantam squealer. About 5 minutes later a truck drives down the wash about 150 yards out so at this point I am sure it is time to move our stand. However, I decided to stay still until the truck was out of site and then move. Not more than a minute or two later I catch movement right in front of me and right next to the Woodpecker. I was really startled when I realized the movement was mountain lion sitting 10 yards away from me staring at the woodpecker. Of course once I moved it stared directly at me and seemed for a second not sure what it was going to do. All of this time I had no shot since it was directly on the other side of the bush I had sat behind. I then stood up slowly at which point the lion decided it was time to go and started to casually walk away. After it moved another 5-10 yards I was given a clean and ended up getting my first mountain lion. A bit of a happier ending to the story than the one on your webpage, and I figured you would like to hear that similar events actually worked out for another hunter using the Whirling Woodpecker. I am also grateful for the woodpecker as I really have no desire to see a mountain lion any closer which might have been the case had she not been fixated on the woodpecker.

This was the first lion either I or my hunting buddy had ever seen after living in Arizona for over 35 years. Also, the story gets a little weirder, my partner went back to get the truck and after getting into the river bed about 200 yards or so away from where I was ran into a second lion casually walking back out of the river bed as well but he had no tag and had to watch it walk back into the trees and disappear.
Of course the only downside to all of this is that I am not sure how we will ever top the very first time we tried the Whirling Woodpecker.
Thanks for a great product!

Hi, My name is Madison Medrano and I'm 8 years old. I really like to go coyote
hunting.
Last weekend my dad and I went out at about noon. We found a nice wash and
my dad got us set up. I used a Fox Pro FX 3 DSG Cottontail to call in 5
coyote's in about 5 minutes. My dad put the whirling woodpecker decoy in a
tree and all those coyotes stood around trying to get it. They never saw
us. I can't wait to get a bobcat and a mountain lion. I'll send some more
pictures cause I'll bet you I'll get some soon!
Thanks for an awesome decoy.

Just wanted to take a second to share a picture of my first bobcat kill. I've been trying for years to connect on one of these cats, and the Whirling Woodpecker decoy made it happen. The cat snuck in to about 10 yards from the decoy before I saw it, luckily I got the cat before I lost my decoy!
Thanks for a great product, its size and weight make it a must have for my predator hunting bag!

I was doing a bird distress with one of my calls when I looked and there was a huge bob cat,
I didn't call anymore and just watched him as he was totally fixed on the Whirling Woodpecker.
The cat walked up to it, sat down, looked at it and started slapping it like a house cat would.
The big tom sat there for 30 seconds before I shot it!

On the first stand we started out with the DSG cottontail after 3-4 minutes switched to coyote in distress then to jack in distress. A coyote slipped in on the FX3 and the whirling woodpecker decoy, I turned just in time to see him cross my scent trail and had to shoot him on the run with my Ruger .243,I was on the mark and hit him right through the shoulders! The Whirling Woodpecker kept the attention of this coyote just longs enough for me to get on him for a good shot! Nice decoy guys!

Ever seen six Coyotes trying to eat a woodpecker at the same time? Me either, until I tried this awesome little battery operated decoy. What a sight! Wish I had my camera ready, it was unreal. Thanks for an awesome product and keep up the great customer service.

Worked well for me this morning! Setup on a hillside in big hardwoods. I had the caller running maybe 20 seconds when he came from the right of the decoy/caller, he stopped briefly and continued on in within 5 yards of the decoy before I rolled him with a 20ga. with #4 buckshot. Decoy definitely worked. What a rush !! Thanks for a great product!

My new calling partner shot this coyote. It was his 2nd coyote called. I was howling and was using the FoxPro with coyote pup in distress and the Whirling Woodpecker Decoy. The decoy worked great! The first coyote was going to run us over to get to the decoy. I had to yell to get her to stop so I could find her in my scope. The second coyote was in a trance over the little decoy. Excellent decoy!

Went out to give my new Fox Pro FX3 and Whirling Woodpecker decoy a test drive. At the crack of daylight I turned the FX3 on and started with Jackrabbit Distress. Almost as quick as I turned it on I see a Red Tail Hawk and a coyote going for the woodpecker decoy. Both turned at the same time and the coyote made it to the brush line. Three minutes later a Coyote let out a howl about were the dog had disappeared so I switched to coyote pup distress and I see three coyotes coming straight at the woodpecker and me. I dropped the lead dog at 40 yds. The second dog veered to my right moving out fast. Bang --flop I have two dogs on the ground. I look back at were the first dog hit the ground and I see a dog standing there looking at me and I hear bang and the dog is dead in it's track. Great decoy!

Finally got the whirling woodpecker out for the first hunt. On our second set, we had barely started to call when a small coyote charged out of the brush and tried to steal my decoy. Luckily, we had hooked it securely to a springy branch and the branch ripped it from his mouth. We reacted with quick shots and were lucky to get him, as he never broke stride. I did learn not to sit that close to the decoy again in the future as I had fired my shot at 10 yards as he ran full steam right at me.
